Pioneer Recycling Services submitted an application to Metro for a solid waste facility license to receive and sort materials such as paper, plastic and metal for recycling markets. This site has operated as a recycling facility under various ownership since at least 2001. Pioneer Recycling Services has operated at this site since 2014. This type of facility was previously exempt from obtaining a Metro license. Due to recent changes to Metro Code (effective Jan. 1, 2019), Pioneer Recycling Services is now required to obtain a Metro license. To share your views, comment by 5 p.m. Oct. 17, 2018
