Turkey Creek Park, owned and operated by the city of Niceville, sports one of the most unique swimming experiences in northwest Florida. A wooden boardwalk, stretching exactly a mile, borders Turkey Creek and the frequently flooded forest on either side. The boardwalk is raised, giving walkers a different perspective on the adjacent sand-bottomed creek. Various interpretive signs identify plant and animal species along the way, while overlooks provide scenic photography spots.
