Smart Stick can help detect obstacles above knee level and more importantly help navigate around large building. The Smart Stick also has an obstacle detection unit, a voice-cont roller unit & a sensory feedback unit. A speaker built into the cane will guide users through voice command to go straight or turn when ever required. It can also vibrate if it senses an obstacle on path through ultra sonic sensor. Object Detection: In this using the camera mounted on the unit , every object is processed using the image processing technique and through the handset(speaker or headset),the information about the object is passed to the blind using the handset. SOS Feature: This consist of panic button of two kind, a button with cross symbol ( X ) and a button with circle button. If the cross button is pressed, it will alert that medical emergency to the local guardian and to the hospital (hospital in smart cities are working on alert type medical emergency)with the live location as well. If the circle button ( O ) is pressed, it will alert the local guardian where the threat is of other type and not about medical. Call feature: Through this blind person can communicate to the predefined phone numbers through the keypad available in the stick. This is similar to the Speed dial assigned in earlier keypad mobile phone. Locating the Stick:(optional design) This is to find the stick when kept at a distance from the blind stick.
