Having filled in for Tatiana Suarez on short notice, Dern was hoping to make the most of an opportunity to break into the top five at Saturday's UFC 298 pay-per-view in Anaheim, California. Unfortunately for the Brazilian jiu-jitsu specialist, she fell on the wrong side of a decision after 15 minutes of Fight of the Night-worthy action opposite Amanda Lemos at the Honda Center. While an onslaught from the Brazilian threatened to bring things to a close in round two, Dern survived and rallied late on.
