The Brebeuf Hockey club started their playoff push today against the Bloomington Blades. The teams played even until the second period when the Blades took advantage of a 5 on 3 powerplay to take a 1-0 lead. Just minutes later, still in the second period, junior Oscar Sizemore was able to slip one in under the Blades goaltender to bring it back even. The third period saw Bloomington make a heavy offensive push, but goalie Jack Rielage kept them out of the net on several occasions. In OT, another Braves penalty ended up being the difference when the Blades scored the winner with a 4 on 3 advantage. 1-2 was the final. Rielage saved 35 of 37 shots and takes the loss in net. Brebeuf gets right back out on the ice in an elimination game tomorrow morning at 8:40 a.m., against Culver B, in Ft. Wayne.
