On 7th Sep this year I happened to buy an incomplete Mattel Bravestarr Thunder Stick figure without his hat. It is not easy to find the hat only but only available with MIB items with high price tag so I bought a Big Jim cowboy hat to go with it hoping it would fit but later I found it is far too big for this guy. So I decided to make one for this poor soul but based on the cartoon style design. However I planned to make it look like the other original hats – that is definite touch of hand sculpt with imperfection here and there – well, I can only do that anyway! And toy like approach not as scale model point of view – that means I am taking an easy path but I ended up adding some scale model touch…. I could not help it…! Overall this first prototype turned out to be not too bad with a few hours of sculpting and painting fun. Time to wait for putty to cure and each paint layer to dry was a lot longer than actual work as I am very impatient once I start a project I should finish fast. Anyway I thoroughly enjoyed this project.
