lt;p> Hello and welcome to The House of Chrome. You are looking at a rarer 1980's era Philips SBC 3036 model dynamic cardioid microphone that comes with the Audio Technica mic clip shown. The Philips microphone Company is based out of Holland and while I have no idea where the mic was actually made it does appear to be a very high quality build. This rarely seen mic has a very modern design with an all metal body and stock painted finish. The handle has what I would call a sand stone color scheme (stock) that has a rougher texture making it very easy to grip in the hand. Philips made some very unique, quality microphones back in the 1940's & 50's and their designs certainly stood out. Again, this SBC 3036 has a very standard design but will certainly do any user justice as the tone on this mic is quite beautiful. It's set at low impedance with a warm smooth sound and great frequency response. Very similar to the Shure SM58 model mic. It's uni-directional picking up sound that directly in front of the mic blocking out all background noise. This mic has been tested and works excellent. It would be a great vocal mic for singing or broadcasting purposes. This mic is appx 6 inches long X 1 3/4 inches wide at the globe. Very lite weight and comes with an on / off switch that works perfectly. The mic itself looks great with just lite wear. Small paint chips and scratches. The front grill looks great as does the Philips label. I would rate the overall condition as very good though some would rate higher. The inner foam pop filter is original and in excellent shape showing that the mic was very well stored and lightly used over the years. Everything is tight on this mic and the XLR pins were cleaned ensuring a perfect signal once an XLR cable is attached. This mic comes with the period Audio Technica mic clip that looks excellent and works just as well. Provides a firm grip on the mics handle and will provide a great degree of tilt up and down.
