Slightly high-waisted and fitted in back, it is bloused in front, with soft gathers falling from ribbon beading of lace or eyelet edging. The camisole closes with drawstrings at the neck and waist, and a buttoned front opening. The gored Petticoat falls to a wide flounce over a dust ruffle at the hemline. The drawstring waist ties at a back placket opening. The petticoat may easily be shortened for contemporary wear.
