Description

The part that started Engineered Vintage. The original GM 67-72 Shackle Bracket Tow Hook.  Our President designed this shackle bracket in 2006 for his personal 1972 Chevy K5 Blazer.  He wanted something strong that could be used to pull or tie down his rig on a trailer.  Designed to bolt up to stock holes in the 72 GM truck frames - utilizing the front slotted hole and the two holes intended for the OEM tow hooks.    The Engineered Vintage Shackle Bracket bolts to the frame and provides a solid front tow point underneath the stock bumper for pulling / vehicle recovery while not compromising front bumper or frame looks or integrity.   Shackle Brackets each attach with (3) grade 8 bolts & accept a shackle / Clevis with up to a 7/8" pin diameter. Some trucks prior to '72 or trucks that do not have factory tow hook holes may require drilling 5/8” diameter holes in frame.  Online install instructions (password with purchase) Kit includes: (2) 3/4 steel laser cut brackets in black powder coat finish (6) 5/8 x 2 long bolts (12) 5/8 washers (6) 5/8 lock nuts *Shackles sold separately - we recommend the Shackles we sell with cotter pins to keep Shackle bolt from walking out while driving Engineering: Laser cut from A-36 equivalent steel, with tensile failure point of 36,000 lbs / square inch or higher. Grade 8 bolts of 5/8 diameter will fail at 40,000 lbs (in shear) or better per bolt Thank you for looking and please check our our other products
